Introducing the P8CB Midnight Obsidian — soft forged feel taken to a new level.
Developed as TaylorMade's Asia-market forged iron, the P8CB now arrives in a striking new Midnight Obsidian finish. It carries over the tour-proven feel and refined head shape of the P7CB while evolving into a more forgiving, easier-to-address design, delivering the soft, precision-forged feel of soft carbon steel along with a higher level of forgiveness.
Each head is shaped using TaylorMade's proprietary Compact Grain Forging process, pressing premium S25C soft carbon steel at more than double the pressure of standard forging (a 2,000-ton press) across five forging passes. This produces a dense, refined internal structure for an exceptionally soft forged feel, while added mass at the back of the head further enhances the sense of connection at impact.
The classic tour-inspired head shape is paired with the longest blade length in the P-series lineup (80mm) for a confidence-inspiring look at address. A ceramic core built into the center of the head shifts weight away from the middle, redistributing it to the perimeter for greater forgiveness and reduced head twist on off-center hits.
An optimized-bounce mid sole, a gently curved leading edge that adapts to a range of attack angles, and a speed sole design with a reduced trailing edge combine for a clean, turf-friendly release from any lie, while the precision machine-milled face keeps spin consistent for a stable, predictable ball flight.
